Exploring the University of Iowa and What They Offer

The University of Iowa is a large school with 31,206 total students and 1,890 international student including 100+ different nationalities. The student to faculty ratio is 15:1 - allowing students to make deep connections with faculty despite being a large university. When looking for the right university there are many things to consider such as: rank, location, size, programs offered, and so much more!


If rank is your determining factor then the University of Iowa has you covered as they are ranked 33rd Best Public Institution according to US News and World Report. In addition, according to the Times Higher Education, the University of Iowa is in the top 5% of institutions worldwide and they are member of the elite Association of American Universities (AAU) in tier one of the Carnegie research institutions in North America. The University of Iowa is where "science meets the arts". Campus Life

The campus is conveniently located in downtown Iowa City which means you are on average 15 minutes from everything you could need including the pharmacy, coffee shops to study in, banks, boutiques for shopping, and the list goes on. The campus is easily walk-able or bike-able allowing increased accessibility. The University is also strategically placed as major cities like Chicago and Kansas City are only a 4-5 hour car ride away (which is is great if you are looking for internships).

The University encourages students to participate in jobs while on campus and they have plenty to offer. They offer positions in the admissions office, paid research, food service, and much more. The career center on campus is invested in your future, so be sure to visit them starting your first year. 93% of University of Iowa graduates are placed in jobs or graduate school post undergraduate - impressive!
