They are a tier 1 research institution and member of the prestigious Association of American Universities. This is great news if you are interested in participating in research. As an undergraduate student you can begin research as early as your freshman year! They offer hundreds of undergraduate programs to choose from, so you are sure to find the right pathway for you. We've listed a few of their schools below:

  • School of Engineering

  • School of Education and Human Sciences

  • School of Health Professions

KU also offers a tiered scholarship program for freshman international students from $3,000-$9,000 a year, renewable for 4 years. Another great scholarship to note is their International Excellence tuition waiver, which a separate application is needed.

Campus Facilities

Students are offered a variety of living accommodations and meal plans based on their budgets. All students are encouraged to spend at least their first year living on-campus as it makes the transition much easier, and allows students to be connected to their peers. In addition to making friends living on-campus, you can also grow your community by being involved in any of their 600+ student organizations and clubs! KU also has an International Support Services where they provide immigration advising, support, and ongoing programming so students can easily become involved in campus life and the broader community. Beyond ISS, KU provides a broad and deep range of support services for students, from academics and advising to career services, health services, and recreation.
